Week of August 16, 2026

Announcements

  • Gustavo Perez was baptized!

We're celebrating with the Perez family — Gustavo put on Christ this past Wednesday night. Matt is studying with his wife, Lupita, and we're praying she'll take that same step soon. Gustavo, Lupita, and their three kids are part of Central Iglesia.

  • Missions Update — Mexico City

Gonzalo sent this week's update on the work in Mexico City, along with a prayer list — check your email for the full newsletter.

  • Kids Closet needs extra hands

There's been a wonderful wave of clothing and shoe donations, and Kids Closet could use help hanging it all — Wednesday mornings, 9–11 AM. Come one week a month or every week, whatever works.

  • Small Groups — sign up now

A survey form for this year's small groups is on Facebook, the HUB, or with your class leader — fill it out so we know where you fit. Not connected to a class yet? This means you too. Stop by the informational fair in the lobby next Sunday, August 23, and groups kick off September 13.

  • Shannabration — bring a side

Central members are asked to bring a side or dessert for Shannon Cooper's 25th work-anniversary celebration on August 23 — green beans are a fan favorite, but feel free to branch out.

  • Encouragers resumes — studying Job

The Thursday morning Encouragers class starts back August 27 with a study of Job. Class begins at 10:30 in Fellowship East — all are welcome.

  • Area Wide Worship — August 30

Central hosts our central Arkansas family of churches for an evening of song and prayer on August 30. No childcare is provided, though the kids area will be open for movers and shakers — bring your own plan for little ones.

  • Central Teens — fall events are up

Fall teen events have been shared on Remind and GroupMe — check there to fill up your calendar. Share your student's schedule with James so he can cheer them on at their school activities.

    Contact James Mosley.

  • City Connections hygiene drive — coming in September

Starting in September, we're partnering with City Connections to collect hygiene products for students and families in local schools. Look for a collection bin in the coming weeks.

  • Reserving a room

To use any space in the building, call or email Jessica in the church office to reserve it.

    Contact Jessica Ward.

Prayer

The full prayer list is in the printed bulletin and the weekly email. It names people and their circumstances, so it stays off the public site. We’re praying for our missionaries — the Bills family in Ghana, the Cerecedos in Mexico, and the Daggetts in Peru — for our service members, and for our neighbors who are seeking the Lord.
