Ephesians 6:18
It is good for brothers and sisters in the Lord to pray for each other, and to pray with each other. As the family of God, what is more natural than for us to speak with the Father about each other’s needs?
Some of our bothers and sisters are of course closer to us. Some would be distant strangers to us, except for the work of Jesus.
Some we know deeply, having weathered some of life’s challenges together.
Some we know, but only a little, maybe enough to recognize them as someone from church.
Others we know because we’ve heard their story, or perhaps remember something they shared in worship some time ago which moved us. Still others we’ve only spoken to occasionally, but we always stop to pray fro them when they offer requests on the church’s Facebook page.
We have many different types of relationships with the Lord’s people. But our work of praying for each other can encompass all of those types of relationships.
Today, let your prayers focus on intercession, approaching God on behalf of your brothers and sisters in Jesus!
