Our History

Our History

Central church of Christ is a body made of imperfect people striving to love God and love others every day. This singular body — as the Apostle Paul describes in Romans 12 — is made of many members. In this church, you’ll find people from different backgrounds, cultures, ages, interests, ideologies, theologies, and more. You can find Central on the 800 block of West Sixth St. in Little Rock, AR.

Our family consists of people who are joyful to be together, excited to worship God, and deeply interested in how His Word continues to speak to us today. In an age of dissension and separatism, we celebrate Central’s core mission since its inception: a church built on the value of coming together in the uniting love of Jesus Christ.

Follow Jesus Together - Our Missions Statement

"Follow Jesus Together"

Our Missions Statement

FOLLOW

FOLLOW

Following elicits action in those who come behind the One who leads; we are not just passengers on this journey. A cost is associated with following the Pioneer and Perfecter of our faith. We are to set aside the things of the world and be obedient to the Living God. We are to follow Him even when it is uncomfortable, reaching out to the outcast, oppressed, and lost as He did when He was here with us.

JESUS

JESUS

In the Gospels we see Jesus came to earth not to be served but to serve. To bring light to the darkness and hope to the hopeless. We are no longer separated from God by sin but are able to have a relationship with Him through Jesus. We are called to be like him in all ways by loving God and by loving others.

TOGETHER

TOGETHER

Living out the Gospel is not an individual journey but a communal effort by those who are disciples. A community of believers we are able to encourage and exhort one another as we put the things of this world behind us. We exemplify Jesus to one another and to those around us by being servants. We are able to bring others into our church family and help them find belonging.
